Userfly or Userspy?

I found this rather intriguing usability resource called Userfly.com. As the name suggests, it serves as a fly on the wall and  records your real users’ interactions with a website.  While the idea seems hugely effective for analyzing their behavior, I do wonder how users would feel if they were being observed unknowingly.

A series of Apple patent filings published this week reveal the Mac maker has spent a considerable amount of time outlining a new multi-dimensional interface for Mac OS X that would make better use of screen real estate by increasing the number of virtual surfaces capable of housing application and interface elements.

An interview with fashion photographer, Leo Lam

As an on-going feature, I’ll be chatting with colleagues within the larger ecology of “User Experience”. Through this, I hope to broaden the reader’s perception of what “User Experience” truly implies, and that this is not a term reserved exclusively for labs and virtual spaces.

To kick this off, I sat down with fashion photographer Leo Lam. We go back a good 10 years now, back to when our photographic paths crossed. I’ve seen his skills blossom and there’s not many photographers out there who understand the viewer as well as Leo. In such a technical craft, it’s easy to get caught up in gadgets and settings – and in doing so – forget about the viewer’s experience.

Seattle Seahawks & Buffalo Bills websites go live

Albeit a late announcement, the newly redesigned and rearchitected Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills websites have gone live. These are the first two websites we’ve  rolled onto the new NFL clubs platform, which will eventually house all 32 clubs.
I welcome all feedback, as the platform will be an entity of on-going evolution and enhancement.
Take a look [...]

Palm Pre: on the heals of the iPhone

It looks like this is the year of Messiah. First Obama, and now the Palm Pre. That’s right, this could truly be the savior for Palm, and at the same time, perhaps Sprint too.  Yes, believe it or not, Sprint has actually landed a state-of-the-art mobile device that another provider won’t offer – at least [...]

Arsenal fans could catch replays, live action on Sony’s PSP

One of the biggest downsides to catching an event in-stadium is the inability to see instant replays. Oh sure, a few venues play back sequences for the fanatics in attendance, but you’ll still get a much better angle from the comfort of your own couch. English soccer club Arsenal is hoping to remove that obstacle [...]
